With both, you phone about 10 minutes before you arrive, hand your keys to a driver and walk about 2 minutes into the terminal.

The main difference is the spot where the car changes hands. I Love Meet & Greet’s driver meets you on the terminal forecourt, at the far end of the Passenger Drop Off. Bubble Meet & Greet uses your terminal’s Short Stay car park instead, and you take a ticket at the barrier on the way in. At North Terminal, the handover is in the off-airport meet and greet bays near the exit on the ground floor of Car Park 5. At South Terminal, it’s on Level 1 of Car Park 3, the furthest car park. Now and then, APH says, you may be asked to meet on the forecourt instead.

Minibuses with up to 9 seats are fine with I Love Meet & Greet, and if you fly back into a different terminal, it can bring the car to the one you land at with no extra charge. Bubble Meet & Greet asks for a car that fits a standard 2.4 by 4.8 metre bay.

Verdict: With the same company behind both, it mostly comes down to where you’d rather hand over the car. If you like pulling up at the kerb, or you’re driving a minibus, I Love Meet & Greet is the simpler choice. If a short drive into the Short Stay car park doesn’t bother you, go with whichever is cheaper for your dates.

With I Love Meet & Greet With Valet, I Love Meet & Greet’s terms charge £15 for each extra day once a booking runs past its end, paid when the car is returned. For Bubble Meet & Greet, APH says extra days are charged at the car park’s standard daily rate, which can change.

Verdict: Want to hand over at the kerb, or like knowing exactly what a late return would cost? I Love Meet & Greet With Valet is worth a look. If the Short Stay car park suits you, Bubble Meet & Greet keeps things simple, and if it’s cheaper on your dates, it’s probably an easy call.

Bubble Meet & Greet’s operator, I Love Meet & Greet, is on that list too, and your car goes to a secure off-airport compound with perimeter fencing, CCTV across the site and regular security patrols.

A couple of practical points split them. Sure Parking Meet & Greet won’t take a minibus, a long wheelbase van or a motorhome, and it asks for any recording equipment in the car, such as a dashcam, to be switched off, as it doesn’t allow recording devices into its car parks. Bubble Meet & Greet doesn’t take trailers, commercial vehicles or taxis.

Verdict: With the handover in the same car parks, this one comes down to which company you’d rather leave the car with, and the price difference for your dates. Go with whichever is cheaper, as both are well set up at the airport.

At South Terminal, both hand over in the same corner of the airport. You keep to the right into the Short Stay car park, take a ticket at the barrier and go up to Level 1 of Car Park 3, where a driver takes your keys. There’s no shuttle, it’s about a 2-minute walk into the terminal, and the car goes to a secure off-airport compound while you’re away.

The main difference is who runs it and how much notice they want. Bubble Meet & Greet is run by I Love Meet & Greet, and you phone about 10 minutes before you arrive. APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only is run by APH itself, and you phone about 30 minutes before you reach the airport. It’s also just for South Terminal, whereas Bubble Meet & Greet covers North Terminal too.

On the way home, Bubble Meet & Greet gives you a pre-paid ticket to drive out of the Short Stay car park. With APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only, you phone APH, head back to the Short Stay car park and a chauffeur meets you with the car ready to go.

If your vehicle is on the tall side, APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only has an answer: the Short Stay car park’s limit is 2 metres, but tell APH when you call and its chauffeur will meet you in the open car park next to the Orange Car Park. Bubble Meet & Greet asks for a car that fits a standard 2.4 by 4.8 metre bay.

Verdict: Driving something taller than 2 metres? APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only is probably the one. Otherwise, from South Terminal there’s very little to separate them, so go with whichever is cheaper for your dates.

Both keep the handover inside the North Terminal Short Stay car park. You keep left as you come in, take a ticket at the barrier and hand your keys to a uniformed, insured driver, then it’s a short walk into the terminal with no shuttle. While you’re away, the car sits in a secure off-airport compound.

The main difference is the meeting point and the paperwork. Bubble Meet & Greet uses the off-airport meet and greet bays near the exit on the ground floor of Car Park 5, and when you get back you’re given a pre-paid ticket to drive out with. Verdict: These two are closely matched at North Terminal. If you’d rather give less notice, Bubble Meet & Greet suits, but in the end it’s probably sensible to go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they’re both sound options.

If you fly from South Terminal, these two meet you on the same level of the same car park: Level 1 of the Orange Car Park, Car Park 3, in the Short Stay car park, which you enter by taking a ticket at the barrier. From there, both leave you a short walk to check-in, and both cover North Terminal as well.

The main difference is North Terminal, and the company behind each. Bubble Meet & Greet, run by I Love Meet & Greet, stays in the Short Stay car park there too, in Car Park 5. ACE Meet & Greet, run by Ace Parking, takes the car in a hotel car park near North Terminal instead.

If handing over your keys makes you uneasy, it may help that ACE says its drivers are DBS-checked as well as uniformed and fully insured. Bubble Meet & Greet’s drivers are uniformed and insured, and the compound your car goes to has barrier-controlled entry and exit and staff on site 24 hours a day.

Verdict: From South Terminal there’s practically nothing between them, so go with whichever is cheaper on your dates. From North Terminal, it’s Car Park 5 with Bubble Meet & Greet or a hotel car park with ACE Meet & Greet, and either is a sound choice.

The main difference is how far from the terminal you leave the car. Cophall Parking is out at Copthorne, on Effingham Road by The Curious Pig pub, and works as a park and ride. You check in at reception, a minibus takes you to the airport, and on the way home you call the free number on your key receipt and the minibus collects you from where you were dropped off. Bubble Meet & Greet takes the car from you in your terminal’s Short Stay car park, and it’s about a 2-minute walk in from there. When you land, you phone from the arrivals hall once you’ve got your bags.

If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair, Cophall Parking’s site is all on ground level with a wheelchair-friendly reception, and wheelchairs can go on the minibus, as long as the passenger can step up into it. With Bubble Meet & Greet there’s no minibus to board, and staff will help with luggage or extra support if you ask when you arrive.

The upside to Cophall Parking is that a park and ride usually works out cheaper than Meet & Greet, so the question is how much a handover at the terminal is worth to you.

Verdict: If there’s little in the price, Bubble Meet & Greet’s terminal handover is probably worth it. Where Cophall Parking is clearly cheaper on your dates and a minibus ride is no hardship, it probably makes sense to choose it.

Both have someone else park the car once you’ve handed over the keys, and both work for either terminal.

The main difference is the minibus. Cophall Parking Super Saver uses the same Copthorne car park as Cophall Parking. You leave the car in an arrival bay, check in at reception with your booking confirmation and flight details, and keep the key receipt card you’re given for your return, before a minibus takes you to the airport. With Bubble Meet & Greet, you’re already at the terminal when you hand over the keys, so there’s no transfer.

The upside to Cophall Parking Super Saver is that, as a Non-Flex park and ride, it usually undercuts Meet & Greet. The catch is that once it’s booked, it can’t be amended or cancelled.

Verdict: If Cophall Parking Super Saver is noticeably cheaper and you’re happy with a minibus and a booking you can’t change, it’s probably the better value. If the price difference is small, or Bubble Meet & Greet is the cheaper of the two, its handover at the terminal probably makes it an easy call.

Whichever you choose, staff park the car for you, and either works for North Terminal or South Terminal.

The main difference is the bus. Airparks Park & Ride shares APH’s car park on Copthorne Road in Crawley. You check in at reception, and the free shuttle to the terminal takes about 10 to 12 minutes, leaving every 10 to 15 minutes at any hour. On the way home, you catch the car park’s bus from the stop outside the terminal, and staff at reception tell you where the car is parked. With Bubble Meet & Greet, the handover happens a 2-minute walk from the terminal, so there’s no bus at either end.

Travelling with a wheelchair or a pushchair? Airparks Park & Ride’s waiting area and shuttle buses are fully accessible to both, and staff can help load and unload luggage.

Verdict: If Airparks Park & Ride is noticeably cheaper on your dates and a 10 to 12 minute bus ride doesn’t bother you, it’s probably the better value. Otherwise, the 2-minute walk from Bubble Meet & Greet’s Short Stay meeting point is probably worth it, especially with children or a lot of luggage.

The main difference is getting to the terminal. APH runs APH Park & Ride itself, from its car park on Copthorne Road, Crawley, which you reach through Crawley Garden Centre. Once you’ve checked in at reception, shuttles leave every 10 to 15 minutes. With Bubble Meet & Greet, you hand over in the Short Stay car park and walk into the terminal in about 2 minutes. Flying with a bike or a surfboard? Neither can go on APH Park & Ride’s shuttle, although skis and snowboards can.

APH Park & Ride is also Super-Flex: you can amend or cancel free of charge at any time up to your booked arrival time. For peace of mind while you’re away, the car park has more than 120 CCTV camera points, floodlighting and staff on duty around the clock.

Verdict: Need the freedom to change plans right up to your arrival time? APH Park & Ride’s Super-Flex terms make it the stronger choice, and if it’s cheaper too, it’s probably an easy call. If Bubble Meet & Greet is cheaper, or there’s not much in it, the short walk from the Short Stay car park is probably worth having.

The main difference is the battery. APH Park and Ride with EV charging revolves around charging: a trained, insured valet driver charges your car and moves it to a secure bay, and when you get back, you collect your keys at reception and find it fully charged. You bring your own cable and a physical key, since a phone-operated key won’t work for charging, and if your car has a valet mode, APH’s guide asks you to switch it on before you hand over the keys. Bubble Meet & Greet makes no mention of charging.

That convenience comes with a shuttle ride of about 10 to 12 minutes each way, where Bubble Meet & Greet leaves you a 2-minute walk.

Verdict: Driving an EV and want a full battery for the trip home? APH Park and Ride with EV charging is the one to go for. If you can charge at home, Bubble Meet & Greet probably makes more sense, and where it’s cheaper, it’s probably an easy call.

Number-plate recognition lifts the barrier, staff in reception show you to a space, and on the way home you collect a barrier exit code at reception and drive out. Free shuttles leave every 10 to 15 minutes, around the clock, for a journey of about 10 to 12 minutes. Bubble Meet & Greet, by contrast, has a driver take the car and the keys from you in the Short Stay car park.

Some drivers simply aren’t comfortable giving their keys to someone else, and for them APH Gatwick Self Park is the answer. If that isn’t you, Bubble Meet & Greet’s car park has lighting, automated gated barrier entry and Trading Standards’ Buy With Confidence award.

Verdict: If you’d rather nobody else had your keys, APH Gatwick Self Park is the obvious choice, whichever is cheaper. If you’re comfortable handing them over, Bubble Meet & Greet is probably the better choice where the price difference is small, and probably an easy call where it’s cheaper.
