A driver meets you at the Approved Operator bays at the far end of the North Terminal or South Terminal Passenger Drop Off, takes your car to a secure compound and brings it back to the same spot when you land. With both options, you hand over your keys and then it’s around a 2-minute walk to the terminal, and Gatwick’s forecourt charges are included.

The main difference is the valet. With I Love Meet & Greet With Valet, your car gets an exterior clean while you’re away, so you come home to a nice clean car.

The upside to I Love Meet & Greet is that, without the valet extra, it’s usually the cheaper of the two, so it’s a question of whether a clean car on your return is worth paying for.

Verdict: If you’d like to come home to a clean car and the price difference for your dates feels fair, I Love Meet & Greet With Valet is a nice touch. If you just need the car parked and returned, I Love Meet & Greet does exactly that - it’s a judgement call.

The main difference is really just the name on the booking. Behind the scenes, the handover, the drivers and the return are the same.

Verdict: Pick whichever is cheaper for your dates, otherwise there’s no real difference.

With Bubble Meet & Greet, you usually meet in the airport’s Short Stay car park. At South Terminal that means taking a ticket at the barrier and heading to Car Park 3. At North Terminal, you use the Off Airport Meet & Greet bays on the ground floor near the exit. Either way, it’s a short walk to check-in.

Verdict: These two are closely matched. If you’d rather pull up at the forecourt, I Love Meet & Greet is the more straightforward handover. If you don’t mind a quick drive into the Short Stay car park, go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they’re both sound options.

Sure Parking Meet & Greet meets you in the Short Stay car park at your terminal (Car Park 5 at North Terminal), where drivers in orange jackets take the car. You call Sure Parking Meet & Greet 20 minutes before you arrive, compared with around 10 minutes for I Love Meet & Greet.

Vehicle size matters here too. Sure Parking Meet & Greet doesn’t accept minibuses, long wheelbase vans or motorhomes, and its Short Stay car parks have height limits of 1.8m at North Terminal and 2m at South Terminal. I Love Meet & Greet accepts standard cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats.

Verdict: Driving something tall or a minibus? I Love Meet & Greet is probably the safer choice. Otherwise, where Sure Parking Meet & Greet is cheaper for your dates, it probably makes sense to choose it, but if I Love Meet & Greet is cheaper, its forecourt handover makes it an easy call.

With I Love Meet & Greet, you follow the Passenger Drop Off signs to the far end of the South Terminal forecourt and meet your driver in the Approved Operator lane. With APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only, you keep to the right-hand lane into the South Terminal Short Stay car park, take a ticket at the barrier, which has nothing to pay, and meet an APH chauffeur on Level 1 of Orange Car Park 3. You phone APH about 30 minutes before you reach the airport, rather than about 10 minutes with I Love Meet & Greet.

As the name says, APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only is just for South Terminal. I Love Meet & Greet covers North Terminal too, and if you fly back into a different terminal, it can return the car to the one you land at with no extra charge.

Driving something tall? The South Terminal Short Stay car park has a 2-metre height limit, but if you tell APH when you call, its chauffeur will meet you in the open car park next to the Orange Car Park instead. I Love Meet & Greet takes cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats.

Verdict: If there’s any chance your return flight lands at North Terminal, I Love Meet & Greet is probably the safer choice. Otherwise, if you’d rather pull up at the kerb, I Love Meet & Greet is the more direct handover, and if a drive into the Short Stay car park doesn’t bother you, go with whichever is cheaper for your dates.

Both meet you at the terminal, so there’s no off-site car park to find and no bus to catch. With both, a fully insured driver takes the car and keys, the car goes to a secure compound while you’re away, and you’re only a minute or two’s walk from check-in. Both are Flexible on our site.

The main difference is which part of North Terminal you drive to. I Love Meet & Greet uses the Approved Operators’ lane on the forecourt, the one closest to the Sofitel and Premier Inn. APH Meet & Greet North Terminal works from inside the Short Stay car park: keep to the left-hand lane as you enter North Terminal, take a ticket at the barrier and look for the blue-and-white coned area signed Approved Operators. Don’t stop in the Passenger Drop-Off area outside the Premier Inn for APH Meet & Greet North Terminal, as it isn’t part of the service and charges £7 per 10 minutes.

Coming home works differently too. With APH Meet & Greet North Terminal, you follow the exit signs after customs, walk back to the Short Stay car park and show the return ticket you were given at drop-off. With I Love Meet & Greet, you phone once you’ve cleared customs and head back to the forecourt meeting point.

Vehicle height can settle it. APH Meet & Greet North Terminal has a 1.8-metre height limit and can’t accept anything taller, whereas I Love Meet & Greet takes cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats.

Verdict: Driving a minibus or anything over 1.8 metres? I Love Meet & Greet is probably the one. In a standard car from North Terminal, the two are closely matched, so go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they’re both sound options.

Some drivers like the reassurance of a staffed desk and an under-cover handover. Others would rather pull up on the forecourt and go.

Verdict: If a proper check-in desk appeals, ACE Meet & Greet is worth the drive into the car park. If you’d rather keep it quick at the kerb, I Love Meet & Greet suits. Otherwise, go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they’re both sound options.

Allow around 30 minutes from checking in to arriving at the airport. With I Love Meet & Greet, you hand the car over at the terminal and walk to check-in in around 2 minutes.

Verdict: Early flight, kids in tow, heavy bags or reduced mobility? Where the price difference is small, skipping the drive to Copthorne and the minibus is probably worth it. If Cophall Parking is noticeably cheaper for your dates and you don’t mind the transfer, it’s probably the better value.

Cophall Parking Super Saver is the same Copthorne park and ride as Cophall Parking: you hand over your keys at reception and take a minibus to the terminal. The difference from I Love Meet & Greet is the same, which is a drive and a transfer versus handing the car over at the terminal.

The main difference beyond that is the booking terms. Cophall Parking Super Saver is Non-Flex, so once it’s booked, it can’t be changed, cancelled or refunded. I Love Meet & Greet is Flexible, so you can amend or cancel up to 24 hours before your departure date at no charge.

The upside to Cophall Parking Super Saver is that it’s usually among the cheapest ways to park at Gatwick, leaving you to weigh up whether giving up flexibility and the terminal handover is worth the saving.

Verdict: If your plans are set in stone and the saving matters most, Cophall Parking Super Saver is hard to argue with. If your dates might move, or you want to walk straight to check-in, I Love Meet & Greet may be worth the extra to you - it’s a judgement call.

The main difference is the transfer. APH Park & Ride is an off-airport car park. You check in at reception and take a shuttle that runs every 10 to 15 minutes, taking around 10 to 12 minutes to reach the terminal. Staff will help with your luggage, and the buses take wheelchairs. With I Love Meet & Greet, there’s no shuttle at all.

APH Park & Ride is also Super-Flex, so you can amend or cancel right up to your arrival time. I Love Meet & Greet is Flexible, up to 24 hours before.

Verdict: If your plans could change at the last minute, APH Park & Ride’s Super-Flex terms are a real plus. If you’d rather skip the bus at both ends, I Love Meet & Greet probably makes more sense where the price difference is small.

Verdict: Where the price difference is small, skipping the drive to the car park and the bus is probably worth it. If Airparks Park & Ride is noticeably cheaper for your dates and you don’t mind the transfer, it’s probably the better value.

This is the big choice: hand over your keys, or keep them. APH Gatwick Self Park is the only Gatwick option we list where you keep your keys. You park the car yourself, nobody else drives it, and the bus journey to either terminal takes around 12 minutes. Bookings are Super-Flex.

The main difference is convenience versus control. With I Love Meet & Greet, there’s no car park to find and no bus. You hand the car over at the terminal to a uniformed, fully insured driver, and it’s kept in a staffed, gated compound with CCTV.

Verdict: If handing over your keys is an issue for you, APH Gatwick Self Park is the one. If it isn’t, I Love Meet & Greet takes the effort out of both ends of your trip. If APH Gatwick Self Park is cheaper for your dates and you don’t mind the bus, it’s probably an easy call.

The main difference is charging versus convenience. At APH Park and Ride with EV charging, a trained, insured valet driver plugs your car in for a 30kWh or 60kWh charge, then moves it to a secure bay. When you get back, it’s charged and waiting at reception. The shuttle runs every 10 to 15 minutes and takes around 10 to 12 minutes. That’s a real help if you’re worried about your state of charge after a long drive to the airport, or want to avoid the faff of finding a charger near Gatwick after your flight.

I Love Meet & Greet doesn’t offer charging, but it does save you the bus. If your EV starts from an app, bring a physical key or key card, because the drivers need one to move the car, or a £15-a-day charge applies.

Verdict: If coming home to a charged car is a must, APH Park and Ride with EV charging may be worth it to you. If you’d rather walk straight to check-in and can charge at home, I Love Meet & Greet probably makes more sense - it’s a judgement call.
