There are a few different parking options at Exeter Airport. All of these are just a short walk from the terminal, so there’s no need to take a shuttle bus and you should be good even if you have kids and lots of heavy luggage.
Located just 50 yards from the terminal, this official car park has several Blue Badge bays and has been given the mark of safety from Park Mark. There are no vehicle height restrictions and it’s the closest of all Exeter Airport parking options.
The fact that it’s a touch more convenient than the other parking options means you’ll be charged a little more to stay here. So, keep this in mind when you book and consider whether you actually need to be that close.
Car Park 2 is 75 yards from the terminal, so it’s not as close as Car Park 1 but it’s still within reach and should take just a couple of minutes by foot. Location aside, Car Park 2 provides many of the same benefits, including Blue Badge spaces and a Park Mark verification.
Car Park 3 is the cheapest of all Exeter Airport parking options. It’s also the furthest away, but at just 100 yards, it shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes to reach the terminal.
Exeter Airport handles around 1 million passengers a year, although those numbers have wavered somewhat over the years and dipped significantly in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
It’s a Focus City for TUI Airways, an airline that operates a large number of routes to destinations across Europe. In the past, it was a major airport for Flybe, with the airline once accounting for 8 out of every 10 flights. This changed in 2020 when the airline filed for administration and ceased all flights, taking a number of Exeter’s routes with it.
Exeter Airport has offered Fast Track security in the past, but this was not available at the time that we checked. When available, Fast Track reduces the time that you spend queuing at security. You can purchase tickets at the airport or make your booking online.
If this is the sort of thing you’re interested in, check the official Exeter Airport website before you book or request more information at a relevant kiosk in the airport.
There’s a World Duty Free store at the airport where you can stock up on duty-free alcohol, fragrances, and other goodies. There’s also a WHSmith, as we’re pretty sure UK airports are legally obliged to have at least one of them on site. There are a couple of places to grab some refreshments as well, including tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
If you have a few hours to kill and don’t want to spend that time shopping or mindlessly staring at the flight information screens, head for the Executive Lounge. You can book online or at the reception desk and will be given access for three hours.
There is a smart/casual dress code and it’s open to everyone except hen and stag parties, with no more than 6 allowed per group. The lounge provides a relaxing place to spend a few hours and offers a wealth of food and beverage options. Bear in mind that guests are limited to no more than 2 alcoholic drinks per person.
The lounge has a number of newspapers and magazines to keep you busy while you wait and it also has free WiFi.
There are currently no electric vehicle charging bays available at Exeter Airport. If you’re stuck, you’ll have to search the surrounding areas. For instance, charging is available at Motor M5 Services, which is about 10 minutes away from the airport.
