ACE Meet & Greet Gatwick Airport

Both are Meet & Greet services covering North Terminal and South Terminal. With both, you hand your keys to uniformed staff, your car is normally photographed at the handover, and it’s then a short walk to check-in. Both are Flexible too, so there’s no fee to amend or cancel up to 24 hours before your departure date. At South Terminal, you even head for the same floor of the same car park: take a ticket at the Short Stay barrier and drive up to Level 1 of the Orange Car Park.

The main difference is North Terminal. Sure Parking Meet & Greet uses the Short Stay car park there as well, on the ground floor of Car Park 5, the first car park on your right after the barriers. ACE Meet & Greet doesn’t use the Short Stay car park or the forecourt at North Terminal: its handover is in a hotel car park near the terminal instead.

Bigger vehicles split them too. Sure Parking Meet & Greet turns away minibuses, long wheelbase vans and motorhomes. ACE Meet & Greet needs anything that won’t fit a standard bay arranged in advance, at extra cost, and for insurance reasons it can’t take an Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati or Rolls-Royce.

Verdict: At South Terminal there’s very little to choose between them, so let the price difference for your dates decide. Driving a minibus? Sure Parking Meet & Greet won’t take one, while ACE Meet & Greet may if you arrange it beforehand. Otherwise, take whichever is cheaper, as either is a sound choice.

At South Terminal, these two meet you in the same car park. You take a ticket at the Short Stay barrier, drive up to Level 1 of Car Park 3, the Orange Car Park, and hand over your keys there, a short walk from check-in. Both cover North Terminal too, and both need the car to fit a standard bay, 2.4 metres wide by 4.8 metres long.

The main difference is who you’re dealing with, and where you go at North Terminal. Bubble Meet & Greet is run by I Love Meet & Greet, and at North Terminal it stays in the Short Stay car park: you keep left, take a ticket and follow the exit signs on the ground floor of Car Park 5 to the off-airport meet and greet bays. ACE Meet & Greet is run by Ace Parking, with Maple Parking managing its Gatwick bookings, and at North Terminal it meets you in a nearby hotel car park.

Coming home works a little differently as well. With Bubble Meet & Greet, you phone from the arrivals hall once you have your luggage, and you’re given a pre-paid ticket to drive out with. ACE Meet & Greet monitors your flight if you’ve given it your return flight number, and you show the bar-coded card from drop-off to get the car back.

Verdict: These two are very evenly matched, especially from South Terminal. If you’d like the North Terminal handover to stay in the Short Stay car park, Bubble Meet & Greet does that. Otherwise, whichever is cheaper for your dates is a safe pick.

Both are Flexible Meet & Greet bookings for North Terminal and South Terminal, with no shuttle to catch. With both, a uniformed driver takes your keys and photographs the car when you hand it over.

The main difference is where that handover happens. I Love Meet & Greet meets you on the terminal forecourt: you follow the Passenger Drop Off signs, keep to the right-hand lane and drive to the far end, where the driver waits in the Approved Operator bays or lane. ACE Meet & Greet keeps you off the forecourt. At South Terminal, the ticket you take at the Short Stay barrier costs you nothing and you park on Level 1 of the Orange Car Park, while at North Terminal you hand over in a hotel car park close to the terminal.

If it’s raining or the car is full of bags, meeting inside the Short Stay car park at South Terminal means you get out of the car in safe, weatherproof surroundings. Minibuses are where I Love Meet & Greet has the edge: it takes cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats, including the driver’s, while ACE Meet & Greet may refuse a minibus that hasn’t been arranged in advance.

Verdict: If stepping out of the car under cover at South Terminal appeals, ACE Meet & Greet is the one, and a minibus driver is probably better off with I Love Meet & Greet. Otherwise there’s little between them, so the cheaper of the two for your dates is a fine choice.

Both are Flexible Meet & Greet services for either terminal, and with both a uniformed, fully insured driver takes the car while you walk to check-in.

The main difference is the handover, and who runs it. APH Meet & Greet Forecourt is sold by APH but run by I Love Meet & Greet, and the driver meets you on the forecourt at the far end of the passenger drop-off area (at North Terminal, the lane closest to the Sofitel and Premier Inn). When you land, you phone as you collect your luggage and walk out to the forecourt, where the car is waiting. ACE Meet & Greet’s handover is off the forecourt: on Level 1 of the Orange Car Park at South Terminal, where the car also comes back, and in a hotel car park near North Terminal.

Using the forecourt comes with one rule worth knowing. Gatwick’s forecourt charges are included with APH Meet & Greet Forecourt, but you need to give the correct registration before you arrive, as APH says a wrong or missing one brings a £20 PCN.

Verdict: Where APH Meet & Greet Forecourt is cheaper, handing over at the kerb probably makes it an easy call. If ACE Meet & Greet is the cheaper of the two, it’s probably the better value, unless pulling up on the forecourt is worth paying extra for.

Neither involves a shuttle: with both, you give your keys to a uniformed driver at the airport and walk to check-in. Both serve North Terminal and South Terminal, and both are booked on Flexible terms.

The main difference is the forecourt. I Love Meet & Greet With Valet comes from I Love Meet & Greet, the company behind its standard service, and its driver meets you at the far end of the Passenger Drop Off, in the Approved Operator bays at North Terminal or the lane at South Terminal. ACE Meet & Greet stays off the forecourt, with its handover in the Short Stay car park at South Terminal and a hotel car park near North Terminal. ACE does offer a valet clean at Gatwick, but only in its Meet and Greet Platinum package, not the Flexible rate we sell.

Travelling with reduced mobility? I Love Meet & Greet can collect the car from a disabled bay or another forecourt spot you’ve arranged with the airport’s special assistance team. APH says ACE’s staff will help with luggage or other support, and there’s no need to arrange anything in advance.

Verdict: If you’d rather hand over at the kerb, or need the car collected from a disabled bay, I Love Meet & Greet With Valet is the better fit. Otherwise, ACE Meet & Greet does the job well, and where it’s the cheaper of the two, it’s probably an easy call.

At South Terminal, both meet you inside the Short Stay car park rather than on the forecourt. With both, you keep to the right-hand lane, take a ticket at the barrier, which costs you nothing, and drive up to Level 1 of the Orange Car Park, where uniformed staff take your keys. Both are Flexible, so you can amend or cancel up to 24 hours before your departure date at no charge.

The main difference is that APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only covers just the one terminal, while ACE Meet & Greet also covers North Terminal, where its handover moves to a hotel car park near the terminal. With APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only, you phone APH about 30 minutes before you reach the airport, and an APH chauffeur meets you in the area signed Approved Operators. With ACE Meet & Greet, you park in row D or E near the lifts, and staff walk round the car and photograph it, which usually takes 3 to 4 minutes.

Driving something tall? The South Terminal Short Stay car park has a 2-metre height limit, but if your vehicle is taller and you tell APH when you call, APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only meets you in the open car park next to the Orange Car Park instead.

Verdict: Flying from North Terminal? ACE Meet & Greet is the one of these two that goes there. From South Terminal, if your vehicle is over 2 metres, APH Meet & Greet South Terminal Only has the open car park to fall back on. Otherwise they’re very close, so go with whichever is cheaper, they’re both sound options.

Neither uses the forecourt or a shuttle. With both, uniformed staff take your keys at the airport, you’re given something to show when you come back (a return ticket from APH, a bar-coded card from ACE), and the car goes to secure off-airport storage while you’re away. Both are Flexible bookings.

The main difference is the North Terminal handover. APH Meet & Greet North Terminal meets you inside the North Terminal Short Stay car park: keep to the left-hand lane as you enter, take a ticket at the barrier and look for the area signed Approved Operators. From there it’s a 1 to 2-minute walk to the terminal, under cover all the way. ACE Meet & Greet doesn’t use the Short Stay car park at North Terminal: its handover is in a hotel car park near the terminal. APH Meet & Greet North Terminal only covers North Terminal, while ACE Meet & Greet covers South Terminal as well.

Two things to know about APH Meet & Greet North Terminal. It can’t take anything taller than 1.8 metres, and the Passenger Drop-Off area outside the Premier Inn isn’t part of the service, so stopping there by mistake costs £7 per 10 minutes.

Verdict: Driving something over 1.8 metres? APH Meet & Greet North Terminal can’t take it. If a covered walk from the Short Stay car park appeals, APH Meet & Greet North Terminal suits. Otherwise, go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they’re both sound options.

Both take your keys and park the car for you, both cover North Terminal and South Terminal, and both are Flexible bookings. There’s a link between them, too: Cophall’s website says Cophall Park & Ride is operated by Maple Parking Limited, and Maple Parking manages ACE’s Gatwick bookings, so you may spot Maple staff or branding at ACE Meet & Greet’s handover.

The main difference is the journey to the terminal. Cophall Parking is a park and ride on Effingham Road in Copthorne, off junction 10 of the M23. You check in at reception and a minibus takes you to the airport, and Cophall asks you to allow 30 minutes from check-in to arriving at Gatwick. With ACE Meet & Greet, the handover is at the airport itself, so from the meeting point it’s just a short walk to check-in.

The upside to Cophall Parking is that, being a park and ride, it usually costs less than Meet & Greet, so it’s really a question of whether skipping the minibus is worth paying more for.

Verdict: Early start, children or a lot of luggage? If there’s not much in the price, ACE Meet & Greet’s handover at the airport is probably worth having. If Cophall Parking comes in well below ACE Meet & Greet for your dates and you’re happy to build in time for the minibus, Cophall Parking probably gives you more for your money.

Neither asks you to park the car yourself: with both, you hand over the keys and staff take it from there. Both serve North Terminal and South Terminal.

The main difference is what happens if your plans change. Cophall Parking Super Saver is Non-Flex, which means no amendments and no cancellations once you’ve booked. ACE Meet & Greet is Flexible, so you can change or cancel at no cost until 24 hours before your departure date, and if your arrival time changes the day before, you can phone Ace Parking on 01293 533000.

The handover differs too. Cophall Parking Super Saver is the same Copthorne car park as Cophall Parking: a barrier reads your number plate, you check in at reception and a minibus takes you to the airport. ACE Meet & Greet takes the car from you at the airport, so there’s no transfer to wait for.

The upside to Cophall Parking Super Saver is that a Non-Flex park and ride usually costs less than a Flexible Meet & Greet, leaving you to decide whether flexibility and a shorter journey are worth paying for.

Verdict: If your plans are fixed and Cophall Parking Super Saver is the cheaper of the two, it’s probably the better buy. If there’s a chance your dates could move, or you’d rather skip the minibus, ACE Meet & Greet is the safer choice, and if it’s cheaper as well, it’s probably an easy call.

You leave the keys with staff at both, and both are Flexible bookings for either terminal.

The main difference is the shuttle. Airparks Park & Ride runs from APH’s car park on Copthorne Road, Crawley. You check in at reception, then take a free shuttle that runs every 10 to 15 minutes, day and night, and takes about 10 to 12 minutes, and it’s worth allowing around 30 to 40 minutes to drop the car off and catch it. With ACE Meet & Greet there’s no shuttle at all: you hand over the car at the airport and walk to check-in.

That matters if you’re flying with sports kit. Bikes, surfboards and windsurf boards can’t go on Airparks Park & Ride’s shuttle, although skis and snowboards can, whereas with ACE Meet & Greet it’s just a short walk from the meeting point to check-in.

Verdict: Where the price difference is small, or ACE Meet & Greet is the cheaper of the two, skipping the bus at both ends probably makes ACE Meet & Greet an easy call. If Airparks Park & Ride is a fair bit cheaper and the shuttle doesn’t bother you, it’s probably the smarter buy.

With both, you leave your keys with staff who park the car, and both run round the clock for North Terminal and South Terminal.

The main difference is the transfer, and how flexible the booking is. APH Park & Ride is APH’s own car park on Copthorne Road, Crawley, off junction 10 of the M23. After checking in at reception, you catch a shuttle that leaves every 10 to 15 minutes, and coming home it picks up from Bus Stop 7 or 8 at South Terminal or Bus Stop 6 at North Terminal. It’s also Super-Flex, meaning there’s no charge to amend or cancel right up to the time you’re booked to arrive. ACE Meet & Greet is Flexible, so changes need to be made at least 24 hours before your departure date.

If you’d like some reassurance about who has your keys, APH says it has been in airport parking since 1980 and is a Which? Recommended Provider.

Verdict: If there’s any chance of a last-minute change, APH Park & Ride’s Super-Flex terms count for a lot, and where it’s the cheaper option too, it’s probably an easy call. If ACE Meet & Greet is cheaper, or the price difference is small, handing over at the airport and skipping the shuttle is probably the better choice.

Both have staff move the car for you once you’ve handed over the keys, and both serve North Terminal and South Terminal.

The main difference is charging. APH Park and Ride with EV charging hands your car to a trained, insured valet driver, who charges it and moves it to a secure bay, so you don’t wait around while it charges, and APH says it’ll be charged to full capacity during your stay. You’ll need your own charging cable, at least 5% battery when you arrive, and a physical key, because a phone-operated key can’t be used for charging. ACE Meet & Greet doesn’t offer charging as an extra.

If a long drive to Gatwick will leave your battery low, or the last thing you want after a late flight is hunting for a charger, coming back to a charged car is worth a lot. The trade-off is the shuttle, which runs every 10 to 15 minutes and takes about 10 to 12 minutes, where ACE Meet & Greet leaves you a short walk.

Verdict: If coming home to a full battery matters to you, APH Park and Ride with EV charging is probably the one, whichever way the price difference falls. If you can charge at home, ACE Meet & Greet probably makes more sense, especially where it’s the cheaper of the two - it’s a judgement call.

Both cover North Terminal and South Terminal at any hour, but they sit at opposite ends of the keys question.

The main difference is the keys. With APH Gatwick Self Park, you park the car yourself and keep your keys: number-plate recognition lifts the barrier, a member of staff in reception shows you to your space, and APH says your car stays exactly where you leave it. From there, a free shuttle gets you to the terminal in about 10 to 12 minutes, with one every 10 to 15 minutes, and it’s a Super-Flex booking, free to change or cancel until your booked arrival time. With ACE Meet & Greet, you hand your keys to staff at the airport and walk to check-in.

Handing your keys to someone you’ve never met is a big ask for some drivers. On that point, ACE says its drivers are fully insured and DBS-checked, your keys are tagged with its own barcode and kept in a secure key room away from the cars, and you show a bar-coded card, and perhaps ID, to get the car back.

Verdict: If keeping hold of your keys matters, APH Gatwick Self Park is the one, and where it’s cheaper too, it’s probably an easy call. If handing them over doesn’t bother you, ACE Meet & Greet saves you the shuttle at both ends - it’s a judgement call.
