These two are closer than the names suggest. APH sells APH Meet & Greet Forecourt, but I Love Meet & Greet runs it on APH's behalf, so the drivers, the handover and the car park are I Love Meet & Greet's either way. With both, you drive to the far end of the Passenger Drop Off at North Terminal or South Terminal, hand your keys to a uniformed driver in the Approved Operator bay or lane, and it's around a 2-minute walk to the terminal. Gatwick's forecourt charges are included with both.

The main difference is really just whose name is on the booking. Both accept cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats, both are Flexible, so you can amend or cancel up to 24 hours before your departure date, and with both a change from the day before you arrive goes straight to I Love Meet & Greet on 01293 824 221.

Verdict: There's no real difference in what happens on the day, so go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they're both sound options.

Vehicle size is worth a thought. Bubble Meet & Greet needs the car to fit a standard bay, 2.4 metres wide by 4.8 metres long, while APH Meet & Greet Forecourt takes cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats.

Verdict: Driving a minibus? APH Meet & Greet Forecourt is probably the safer choice. Otherwise, if you'd rather not drive into a multi-storey, the forecourt handover is the simpler of the two, and if Bubble Meet & Greet is cheaper for your dates and you don't mind the car park, it's probably the better value.

At South Terminal you take a ticket at the Short Stay barrier (you aren't charged for it), park in row D or E on Level 1 of the Orange Car Park and hand your keys and ticket to the staff there. At North Terminal the handover is in a hotel car park near the terminal. Staff walk round the car and photograph it, which usually takes 3 to 4 minutes, so allow time for that.

Some cars can't go to ACE Meet & Greet at all: for insurance reasons it won't take an Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati or Rolls-Royce, and it doesn't take large vehicles such as Transit vans.

Verdict: Flying from North Terminal? APH Meet & Greet Forecourt is the one of the two that goes there. From South Terminal, if you'd rather stay on the forecourt, APH Meet & Greet Forecourt keeps it simple, and if you don't mind driving into the Short Stay car park, go with whichever is cheaper for your dates, they're both sound options.

Verdict: Early flight, kids in tow or heavy bags? Where the price difference is small, APH Meet & Greet Forecourt's handover at the terminal is probably worth it. If Cophall Parking is noticeably cheaper for your dates and you don't mind the minibus, it's probably the better value.

Bulky kit is worth a thought too: bikes, surfboards and windsurf boards can't go on the Airparks Park & Ride shuttle, although skis and snowboards can.

Verdict: Where the price difference is small, skipping the drive to Crawley and the shuttle is probably worth it. If Airparks Park & Ride is noticeably cheaper for your dates and you don't mind the transfer, it's probably the better value.

You bring your own cable, arrive with at least 5% battery and take the shuttle, which takes about 10 to 12 minutes. APH Meet & Greet Forecourt doesn't offer charging, but there's no shuttle.

Both need a physical key. At APH Park and Ride with EV charging, a phone-operated key can't be used for charging. With APH Meet & Greet Forecourt, if your car runs from an app you need to bring a key of some form, or a £15-a-day fee applies.
